Thank you for visiting the Washington Inn Online. Our building has been a big part of this community's past and we would like to share some history with you.

The Washington Inn started as a boarding house in 1883 to rest the workers involved in the construction of the railroad. The "old timers" claim that you could always find a friendly poker game in the front entrance of Warrington Street, pictured above.

You may have noticed a sign at the peak of this building facing Shawano Lake, a portrait of a woman "Proudly” holding a platter of “Washington Inn’s Famous Chicken”. This sign dates back to the 1940's and signifies the beginning of the dining tradition that we are proud to carry on today.

As we sit and unwind at the end of the day there may be a chilly creek or a cold breeze that some have felt, which goes along with the stories we've heard about this historic building. Having been here for the past twelve wonderful years of ownership, we are thankful to have met many friends locally, and those traveling from afar. We are proud to present you with excellent food and our famous double bubble that has been enjoyed by many.
